Wedding Sound Equipment Rental: Melodies of Love

Sound That Makes Your Wedding Unforgettable

Great wedding audio is as essential as the flowers, the food, and the photography. Nothing breaks the magic of a ceremony like a crackling microphone during the vows, or kills a reception's energy like music that's too quiet to feel.

Ceremony Audio

Outdoor Ceremonies Outdoor ceremonies require speaker systems specifically designed to project sound over an open area without blasting the front rows. We typically use line arrays or point-source speakers on stands, positioned to cover the aisle and guest seating areas evenly.

For the officiant and any speakers, a wireless lapel (lavalier) microphone is far more elegant than a handheld system — it's hands-free and nearly invisible in photos.

A wireless handheld microphone on a stand works well for readings or vows where the speaker is stationary.

Indoor Ceremonies House-of-worship acoustics vary enormously. Some churches have beautiful natural reverb; others create muddy, unintelligible sound without proper system design and processing. We assess the space in advance and bring the right equipment to ensure every word is crystal clear.

Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hour typically calls for background music at conversational levels — guests should be able to speak comfortably while enjoying ambient music. A simple stereo speaker system with a DJ or Spotify-controlled output is usually all that's needed.

If you're having live musicians during cocktail hour (a jazz trio, string quartet, or acoustic duo), they may need microphones, DI boxes, and a small monitor system.

Reception Audio

The reception is where the audio system earns its keep. You need a system that can fill the dance floor when the DJ is running, scale back for dinner service, and handle the toasts with pristine speech intelligibility.

Our reception packages include:

  • A full PA system scaled to your venue size
  • Wireless microphone systems for speeches and toasts
  • DJ booth setup with CDJs or a controller
  • Dance floor lighting (if desired)
  • A dedicated audio engineer for the entire event

Budget Guidance

For a 100–150 person wedding reception, expect to budget $1,500–$3,500 for professional audio equipment and a sound engineer. Larger venues, multiple zones (ceremony + cocktail + reception), and higher-end gear will scale accordingly.
